DETROIT - With rifles and shotguns drawn, Detroit Police surround a two-story, abandoned home on Tuxedo at Linwood. It’s a manhunt for a known suspect accused of raping and assaulting a woman in the house.
Investigators tell FOX 2 the woman was held at that location and assaulted for the past few days.
A woman driving down Linwood stopped to help the rape victim.
’Three guys flagged us down in the middle of Linwood. So, we stopped and they were pointing to the field, and as they were pointing, we (saw) her laying there naked (with) blood everywhere,’ said the woman.
Police say the victim was a willing participant days ago, agreeing to join the man in the house to party with narcotics, but the man became violent and began beating and raping the woman. She was held captive, unable to leave the house until her naked escape, breaking out a glass window and running to a nearby vacant lot where she collapsed.
A group of men who saw her chased the suspect, but could not catch him.
’She said that she (had) been held captive for three days, (beaten) and raped, and she was bleeding everywhere,’ the aforementioned woman said. ’She jumped out the back window over’ in the alley, and the guys say that they (saw) the (suspect), so they went running up the alley (trying) to catch him,’ the aforementioned woman said.
The search of the house turned up two dogs, but no suspect.
The rape victim, who is in her mid-thirties, was rushed to a hospital by Detroit EMS for treatment.
