Man Allegedly Spent Night in Target, Got Drunk onListerine

CANTON, Mich. - A worker at a Target store in Canton got a big surprise when she arrived for work. She allegedly found a homeless man drunk on Listerine, who had spent the entire night in the store alone.

We're told it happened at the Target store on Ford Road in Canton.

"One of our team members found someone in the store, near the front of the store, on Monday morning when we opened. It appears that he had been there overnight," said Bethany Zucco with Target.

The man apparently entered the store Sunday night, hid in a bathroom and later tried to get out, but the door was locked.

"It's a little bizarre," said Target shopper Craig Priskorn. "Hard to imagine... that could happen without security or somebody finding out about it."

Canton Police were called to the store and found the man sitting at a desk with an empty bottle of Listerine that man said he had drank.

"You'd have to drink an awful lot of Listerine in order to be drunk on that, I would think," said Target shopper Jennifer Villar. "Never done it myself."

Actually, Listerine is nearly 27-percent alcohol. Not recommended to swallow, but sufficient to induce intoxication.

The man was charged with larceny and disorderly conduct.
