WESTLAND - Tuesday, July 12 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., children ages 12 and younger are making mud pies and doing the "Mud Limbo" at Hines Park-Nankin Mills Area in Westland.
The annual Mud Day mixes more than 200 tons of topsoil and over 20,000 gallons of water to make sure the mud is perfect or playing!
The Western Wayne County HMRT will be on hand with hoses to aid in rinsing mud off the children. Parents are also advised to bring a supply of towels, as there are no showers on site. Don't panic parents, we will provide plastic bags to ensure that all dirty clothes are properly contained for the trip home.
The Hines Park Nankin Mills Area is located on Hines Drive, east of Ann Arbor Trail in Westland. This event has been co-sponsored with the Westland Fire Department, Fox 2 News, ITC Holdings, Community Alliance Credit Union, Quizno's and the Western Wayne County HMRT.
