Michigan (AP) - A Michigan-based company is recalling several types of soft Mexican-style cheese due to potential listeria contamination.
Torres Hillsdale Country Cheese is based in Reading in the south-central Lower Peninsula. The products were distributed to retail stores and delis in 10 states including Michigan.
A sample tested by the Food and Drug Administration in late May was discovered to be contaminated. The company says no illnesses have been reported to date.
The recalled items were sold under the name "Aguas Calientes." Consumers and retailers are urged to return all unused recalled cheese to the company. The recall encompasses all expiration dates.
