(WJBK) - Monday's shooting death of a nine month-old baby is forcing the community to look at the causes for all this recent violence.
We know guns are part of the problem - especially how easily they are falling into the the wrong hands.
According to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, Michigan ranks fifth in the nation for the number of guns "missing" from licensed gun shops. We're talking about more than 3,000 weapons.
These guns have no record of sale making them virtually untraceable by authorities.
Nationwide, more than 62,000 guns were missing from the inventories of licensed gun shops with no record of sale.
The state of Pennsylvania ranked highest with more than 6,000 guns reported "missing."
