BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - The company responsible for an oil spill making its way down the Kalamazoo River in southern Michigan says it's bringing in additional resources as quickly as possible for containment and clean-up.
Enbridge Inc. spokeswoman Lorraine Grymala tells The Associated Press on Thursday morning that company workers and contractors continue to use vacuum trucks and absorbent booms, and more are on the way.
Grymala says Calgary, Alberta-based Enbridge is bringing them in as "quickly as we can."
Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm on Wednesday sharply criticized resources being marshaled by the company and the federal Environmental Protection Agency as "wholly inadequate."
The EPA has said it's also ramping up efforts to deal with the spill it says may be more than 1 million gallons.
