MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. - His whereabouts were a mystery for several weeks until missing Mount Clemens banker 62-year-old David Widlak's body was finally discovered by duck hunters in Lake Saint Clair.
It was later revealed that Widlak was shot execution style.
Was it homicide or suicide? That remains to be determined. The Macomb County Sheriff's Department is looking into every possible angle.
If it was murder, could money be the motive? An independent forensic analysis found no irregularities at Community Central Bank where Widlak was president and CEO. There were no unauthorized or problematic transactions or any circumvention of internal controls on the part of Widlak.
Widlak was last seen September 19th on the bank's property. His lifeless body was found four weeks later.
Investigators are gathering new evidence and also interviewing new people.
