Press Conference on Evans Resignation

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and Deputy Mayor Saul Green held a press conference Wednesday to talk about Detroit Police Chief Warren Evans' departure and introduce interim Chief of Police Ralph Godbee.

During the press conference, Mayor Bing said he felt some of Evans' decisions compromised his position as chief.

Godbee said that tremendous strides have been made in the department, that they will continue to build on their successes, and that he is committed to ensuring the men and woman of the department have the things necessary to do their jobs.
