DETROIT (WJBK) -- The families of two young victims are hoping all the recent activism might help catch another killer on the loose.
20-year-old Tailar Davis and her 19-year-old friend, John Johnson, were found murdered in late January on Detroit's west side.
Wednesday, we heard from the victims' mothers pleading for help from the public and recalling two more young Detroiters, whose lives were cut way too short.
"Tailar Davis was a vibrant, young woman that enjoyed sports. She graduated top of her class. She was valedictorian and she turned it down because she didn't want to speak in front of a crowd," said Lajauana Fitzgerald-Estell, Tailar's mother.
"Somebody could be so cold-hearted [to] just kill two people this way and just walk away like they [did] nothing," said Rosalyn Johnson, John's mother.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest, and if you know something, act fast. If that tip is called in before midnight Thursday, you'll receive an additional thousand dollars.
The number to call is 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
