ROMULUS, Mich. (WJBK) -- He's been collecting for years. Faygo was so impressed they gave him a private tour. FOX 2's Jason Carr recently got to meet the company's number one fan.
Steven Seiler is a self-described Faygo cola nut. Seriously, he even has a button that says "I'm a Faygo cola nut!"
"I've asked everybody at Faygo. Nobody seemed to remember it," he said.
Seiler has more than 100 rare bottles and cans and memorabilia -- all Faygo. Remember Moonshine?
"They had to stop producing it because the people that made Mountain Dew said it was a little too close," he explained.
He even has an original Feigenson Brothers seltzer bottle.
"One of the founder's daughters couldn't say the last name and they were thinking about trying to shorten it, and the little kid said something that sounded like 'faygo', so they named the beverage Faygo," Seiler said.
"Faygo developed the word 'pop' for their products. They thought because of the way it sounded when they opened the bottle that pop was a good thing to call it."
As for his favorite flavor, it's maybe not what you would expect.
"I've always just liked cola," Seiler told us.
Fox 2 is looking for some good ideas on how to redefine Detroit. Have one?
