FOX 2's Jason Carr donned a Frank Sinatra tux, grabbed an empty grocery bag and tested his luck with a two-day early trick-or-treat on the streets of Royal Oak.
His first two attempts left him empty-handed, but his third brought him to the porch of a resident named Jim.
Jim wasn't messing around. He was ready to contribute to Jason's bag with nothing less than Ghirardelli chocolate.
"Got to give the good stuff here in Royal Oak," Jim said.
Jason next stop was Lost & Found Vintage, a retro-clothing retailer that gets busy this time of year meeting the demands of costume-seekers.
"So far, I don't think I've dressed any Lady Gagas," said one of the store's employes. "I've dressed a lot of seventies people. People love the seventies."
The employee also said that costumes inspired by the show Mad Men are very popular this year.
