DETROIT - When FOX 2 first introduced viewers to Alberta Jackson , she was living without power during last week's heat wave and searching for someone to help fix her fuse box. She couldn't afford the $400 repair cost.
Sweltering in the heat for more than two weeks, the 79-year-old Detroit woman welcomed the aid of several Good Samaritans who came to the rescue.
FOX 2's Ronnie Dahl reports crews from PC Contracting and Immaculate Enterprises, along with members of Husband for Rent, helped get the lights back on and performed other household chores this week.
Jackson received a new back door that had been kicked in. Her yard was cleaned, smoke detectors installed, front porch fixed and a new refrigerator is on the way.
