MONROE, Mich. (WJBK) -- A local mother could face some serious charges. She's accused of offering herself and her young daughter for sex in exchange for a pawn extension on a computer.
"She told me, 'I don't have the money and I don't want to lose my laptop.' Then she [told] me, 'What about me and my daughter can do something for you in the back room.' I was in total shock," a worker told us.
For a $25 pawn extension on a laptop, a Dasilva's pawn shop employee says a mother was willing to sell herself and her young daughter.
"What a ... really, really sick woman to do something like that," he said.
Their surveillance video clearly shows a woman and her child inside the pawn shop. The girl played and jumped around the store while her mother talked business at the counter.
"The daughter told her mom, 'Not me this time, mom. You mean you,'" the worker explained. "That's not a mom. That's not a mom at all. A mom wouldn't do that."
We went to the woman's Monroe townhouse. No one answered the door and all the lights were turned off.
Dasilva's pawn shop says they reported the incident to Child Protective Services and that the woman is no longer allowed in their store.
Southgate Police have not released a comment, but they did confirm they are investigating.
