Bradford C. Jacobsen
State Representative
Oakland County
46th District
Why are you running for office?
We need to get our state back on firm financial ground which will bring about more and better jobs to stabilize our families. Michigan's been a great place to work, play and raise a family. I want to get us back on track.
What is the biggest problem facing Michigan residents today and how would you solve it?
The lack of jobs and the poor economy are seriously harming Michigan residents. Lansing must be capable of helping our residents.
What's a better solution: finding revenue or cutting costs to meet Michigan's public education budget? How would you do it?
We cannot continue to spend what we don't have hoping that the dollars will magically appear. Long term we need to consider consolidation of some services and reductions in expenses. Cost saving reforms to other bloated budgets will allow more spending on education and vital services.
What's the best way to create jobs for Michigan residents?
Michigan has been struggling far too long. Lansing continues to apply band-aids. Budget reductions and lower taxes will put more money into our pockets. This should increase retail sales and allow businesses to stay and expand, creating new jobs.
After you leave this earth, what will they say about you?
I hope that my legacy will be of service to my family, my business, my community, and our state.
