Why are you running for office?

I have lived in, and enjoyed Michigan nearly my entire life. If the direction of our government does not change, there will not be any opportunities for my children to choose Michigan for their lives.

What is the biggest problem facing Michigan residents today and how would you solve it?

Our government's excessive spending has led politicians to increase taxes and drive out our job creator's. This has led to a 13.7% unemployment rate.

What's a better solution: finding revenue or cutting costs to meet Michigan's public education budget? How would you do it?

Cutting costs. Cutting the red tape to create schools with proven records of academic achievement will be a priority. When deciding a school for my son, I saw that there are many schools that are allotted significantly more funding than other schools. However, most of these schools did not show any higher scoring. It’s a proven fact that the more money you throw at a problem, usually does not fix the problem. I believe that our schools should be run like a business. If you can find a contractor that does the job for less-use them. If a teacher shows they have a record of increasing achievement-incentivize them. If an administrator will not work within a budget-find one that will. Parents need to be given clear direction from the school, on how they can partner with their child’s teacher to produce the best education possible for our children

What's the best way to create jobs for Michigan residents?

My belief is that the government cannot create a single job, without private industry paying for it. With this in mind, we need to concentrate on creating a much more favorable business climate. We are in a competition with 49 other states. We have one of the highest business taxes, which is the reason for our unemployment rate.

After you leave this earth, what will they say about you?

I don't know, I haven't picked who's going to write my obituary.
