Why are you running for office?

I am running for office to provide leadership and representation for persons in the third district and to assure there is ongoing information sharing between Lansing and residents in the 3rd district. This would include specific issues like home foreclosures, state revenue sharing, insurance redlining, education and unemployment.

What is the biggest problem facing Michigan residents today and how would you solve it?

The biggest problem facing Michigan residents today is the lack of jobs. I would push for retraining at our community colleges and fund specific subject areas with growth such as health care, computer technology, film entrepreneunial and green technology.

What's a better solution: finding revenue or cutting costs to meet Michigan's public education budget? How would you do it?

The question of what is the better solution is cutting cost. Begin by elimenating duplication and consolidating districts.

What's the best way to create jobs for Michigan residents?

The best way to create jobs in Michigan is two fold. First the business environment must be receptive to current businesses to maintain them and assist in expansion, while being open to new busines moving to Michigan. In particular, in research, technology and medical care. Secondly, Michigan must identify the taxing structure of the top 5 states in job growth and move towards adopting a stucture similar for business here.

After you leave this earth, what will they say about you?

I want people to say I had a positive impact in the lives of others and that I sought to uplift and encourage everyone, in particular those most in need...addicts, homeless and impovished. Most of all I want it to be said that the only time I looked down on another human being was to pick him or her up.
