DEARBORN, Mich. - FOX 2's Brad Edwards and crew went to the Dearborn Mosque Wednesday where a group was suspected of plotting crimes. Earlier in the day, the leader of this Mosque was fatally shot while exchanging gunfire with federal agents. (see the sidebar stories)
But just as soon as they arrived along with a crew from the Detroit News, they told him to leave, or else.
After they said no, it got ugly, and our cameras were rolling. (watch two videos, one with Brad's play by play, the other raw footage.)
Several men can be seen smashing the camera of News photographer Ricardo Thomas after witnesses say they pushed him, threw punches and kicked him while on the ground.
Authorities used the video to identify the man who assaulted Thomas. Police raided the house where the men were staying, saying FOX 2's video was proof of several potential felonies.
At this time, however, no one has been taken into custody.
