(WJBK) - It's looking like Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will have to sit out a pair of games.
ESPN.com reports that Suh will receive at least a two-game suspension for his stomp on a Green Bay Packers lineman during the Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field.
The reports say the Lions are also expected to fine Suh the maximum $25,000 allowed under the new CBA for a player being ejected from a game. And he may be forced to take anger management classes.
Suh has been fighting an image as a dirty player and the "stomp" certainly isn't helping. The incident came at a critical time in Thursday's game. The Lions had stopped the Packers on third down and appeared to hold them to a field goal try. The penalty gave the Packers new life and allowed them to score a touchdown on their way to a 27-15 victory.
On Friday, Suh apologized on his Facebook page. "My reaction on Thursday was unacceptable," the star defensive tackle said. "I made a mistake, and have learned from it. I hope to direct the focus back to the task at hand -- by winning."
The report says Suh makes $82,000 per game. If he's suspended two games, he would lose $164,000 in salary.
