(EndPlay Staff Reports) - "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel is spreading a little cheer on her website, HelloGiggles , as she shares a video of a duet she sang with friend Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
The song, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?," was originally featured on Nancy Wilson's album "Yesterday's Love Songs – Today's Blues" in 1963. (Listen to the original .)
Deschanel said on her website that she met Gordon-Levitt, who played Tommy Solomon on the hit TV show "3rd Rock from the Sun," about 12 years ago while filming the movie "Manic."
They bonded over their mutual admiration of Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone. Eight years later, while filming "500 Days of Summer," they danced to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer.
"I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he's simply the best," she said. "But in the meantime, we made a little New Year's duet for all of you!"
The Washington Post calls the duet "pretty much the cutest thing ever, but its extreme sweetness may cause your teeth to rot."
Deschanel, who is also a singer and songwriter, and M. Ward make up the indie folk band "She and Him."
"New Girl," the FOX series in which she plays Jess, will return on Jan. 17.
