(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - The Bridgestone "Saluting Beavers" ad was selected as the number one ad of Super Bowl XLV in a study conducted among viewers Sunday night, according to a national study. You can watch all 101 commercials at the bottom of this story and decide for yourself.
Rounding out the top five commercials were ads by the NFL, Bud Light, Volkswagen and Doritos.
The Bridgestone's "Saluting Beavers" ad features a man driving and narrowly missing a beaver that walks into the road, the beaver returns the favor later when it knocks down a tree and stops the driver from driving into a raging river.
The NFL's "Best. Fans. Ever" ad features scenes from TV shows, including "The Brady Bunch," "Happy Days," "Family Guy," and others, with characters dressed in NFL gear and getting ready for the game.
Bud Light's "Dog Party" features dogs as the waiters, waitresses, and bartenders at a house party.
Ad Testing Methodology
During the game, the Super Bowl ads were inserted into an on-line survey and sent to thousands of study participants. Participants answered questions regarding their perceptions of the ads. They also utilized an online dial testing system to indicate their levels of interest as they watched the ads.
The interest levels was analyzed in the form of curves to determine which commercials had the highest sustained levels of interest.
