Little Tikes Recalls Toy Workshop, Tool Sets Over Choking Hazard

(NewsCore) - Toymaker Little Tikes was recalling more than 1.7 million toy workshop and tool sets Wednesday because of a choking hazard.

The Hudson, Ohio-based firm issued the recall after two children choked on oversized, plastic toy nails after they became lodged in their throats, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said in a statement. Both children were taken to the hospital and made full recoveries.

Consumers were advised to immediately remove the nails, which are either blue or red and about 3.25 inches (8.26 centimeters) long and 1.25 inches (3.18 centimeters) in diameter, from the toy sets and contact Little Tikes for free replacements.

The toys were sold between 1990 and 2004 for $25 to $100, the CPSC said.

The latest recall comes after around 1.6 million toy workshop sets and trucks were recalled in August 2009 because of the same issue.
