McCoy runs for 217, Eagles beat Lions
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - LeSean McCoy rushed for a franchise-best 217 yards, including touchdowns of 57 and 40 yards, and the Philadelphia Eagles overcame two TD returns by Jeremy Ross to beat the Detroit Lions 34-20 in blizzard conditions Sunday.
Ross returned a punt 58 yards for a score and ran a kickoff 98 yards. But McCoy ran 57 yards up the middle to tie it, and Nick Foles connected with Riley Cooper on the 2-point conversion. Foles sneaked in from the 1 and Chris Polk had a 38-yard TD run to cap a 28-point fourth quarter for the Eagles (8-5).
The Eagles, looking to go worst-to-first in the NFC East, won their fifth straight game and temporarily took sole possession of first place. Dallas (7-5) plays at Chicago on Monday night.
The Lions (7-6) have a half-game lead over the Bears in the NFC North.
James scores 24, Heat rout Pistons 110-95
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - LeBron James had 24 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, and the Miami Heat breezed to a 110-95 victory over Detroit on Sunday, avenging a home loss to the Pistons less than a week ago.
Ray Allen added 18 points for the Heat, who were without Dwyane Wade but still shot 56 percent from the field and 11 of 28 from 3-point range. Miami took an early 16-5 lead, and although the Pistons fought back, the Heat went on a 13-2 run in the third quarter to make it 74-57.
Andre Drummond had 19 points and 14 rebounds for Detroit, which had its four-game winning streak snapped.
Stanford, Michigan State headed to 100th Rose Bowl
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Michigan State and Stanford have been selected for the Rose Bowl's centennial.
The No. 4 Spartans will face the fifth-ranked Cardinal on Jan. 1 in the 100th edition of the Rose Bowl game, pitting two venerable programs in Pasadena's traditional Midwest-West Coast intersectional matchup.
Michigan State (12-1) upset Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game on Saturday to earn its first trip to Pasadena since Jan. 1, 1988, when the Spartans beat USC 20-17.
Stanford (11-2) is back in Pasadena for the second straight season after trouncing Arizona State in the Pac-12 title game on Saturday. The powerful Cardinal held off Wisconsin 20-14 last season for the school's first Rose Bowl victory in 40 years.
Michigan State jumps 6 spots to No. 4 in AP poll
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State has jumped six spots to No. 4 in the final regular season Associated Press football poll after beating Ohio State for the Big Ten title.
Michigan State's 34-24 win Saturday night also gives the Spartans a trip to the Rose Bowl.
Florida State is No. 1 in the poll released Sunday, and Auburn is No. 2.
The Seminoles and Tigers wrapped up spots in the BCS championship game by winning their conference title games Saturday night.
Alabama is No. 3 in the last rankings until after the bowls.
No. 5 Stanford is the Pac-12 champion for the second straight season.
No. 6 Baylor won the Big 12, and Ohio State slipped to No. 7 after Michigan State handed the Buckeyes their first loss since the 2011 season.

K-State to meet Michigan in the desert
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Kansas State is headed back to the desert, this time to face Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
The Wildcats (7-5) lost to Oregon 35-17 in last year's Fiesta Bowl, but earned a return trip to Arizona after finishing strong this season.
Kansas State lost four of its first six games, including to FCS school North Dakota State at home, before reeling off four straight wins. The Wildcats finished with a flourish, rolling over rival Kansas 31-10 in their regular-season finale on Saturday.
Michigan (7-5) opened the season 5-0 before fading down the stretch. The Wolverines lost four of their final five games, though came within a failed 2-point conversion of knocking off then-No. 2 Ohio State on Nov. 30 in their final game.
Lions, Chiefs take punts, kicks for scores
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Detroit's Jeremy Ross had a punt and kickoff return for a touchdown, and Kansas City also had one of each, the first time two teams did it on the same day in the NFL since at least 1940, according to STATS.
Ross ran a punt back 58 yards and a kickoff 98 yards in the Lions' 34-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in blizzard-like conditions.
In Washington, Quintin Demps had a 95-yard kickoff return and Dexter McCluster had a 74-yard punt return in the Chiefs' 45-10 win over the Redskins, also played in the snow.

Bowling Green, Pitt to play in Pizza Bowl
DETROIT (AP) - MAC champion Bowling Green will return to Detroit to face Pittsburgh in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl on Dec. 26.
The Falcons (10-3) beat previously undefeated Northern Illinois 47-27 in the MAC title game at Ford Field on Friday, their fifth straight win.
It's the third bowl bid in five seasons for Bowling Green and the 11th in school history.
Pitt will be making its sixth straight trip to a bowl game. The Panthers, who went 3-5 in their first season in the ACC, are 2-1 against Bowling Green since 1999.
Foles throws 1st INT of season against Lions
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia's Nick Foles threw his first interception of the season, leaving him just shy of matching Peyton Manning's record for most touchdowns without a pick to start the season.
Foles entered Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with 19 touchdowns and no interceptions. Foles had his 201st pass of the season intercepted by cornerback Chris Houston in a driving snowstorm. The Lions scored a touchdown off the turnover and made the 2-point conversion.
Foles had a pass intercepted for the first time since a December 2012 game against Washington.
MICHIGAN STATE-ROWDY CROWDS
Mich. State fans get rowdy after Big Ten title win
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Thousands of Michigan State students and fans have celebrated the football team's Big Ten title with large, rowdy bonfires and overturning at least one car.
East Lansing police say they arrested "multiple people" Saturday night near River and Cedar streets, a traditional spot for sports celebrations. The No. 10 Spartans defeated No. 2 Ohio State 34-24 late Saturday, earning its first Rose Bowl appearance in a quarter-century.
Police Capt. Jeff Murphy declined to release arrest figures Sunday, calling it "a large civil disturbance."
The Detroit News says celebrants threw landscaping trees, a bicycle and fire extinguishers into a bonfire near the Cedar Village apartments and overturned a car outside other apartment.
Officers surrounded another large fire about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and marched slowly down River Street to disperse the crowd.
