DALLAS (AP) - Monta (MAHN'-tay) Ellis and Devin Harris scored 20 points apiece as the Dallas Mavericks extended Indiana's season-long losing streak to four games with a 105-94 victory against the Pacers last. The Pacers rallied from 17 points down in the first half and almost wiped out another double-digit deficit after halftime. But they had the same offensive troubles late that plagued them early in the game.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - No. 2 Wichita State remained the nation's lone unbeaten after defeating Indiana State 83-69 yesterday in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament final. The Shockers got tested in the second half before putting the title game out of reach with a 13-0 run that put them up by 18 points with 5:38 to go. Wichita State matched the NCAA record for victories to start the season held by UNLV in 1990-91.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Drew Crawford had 27 points and seven rebounds to lead Northwestern to a 74-65 victory over Purdue yesterday in the regular season finale for both teams. The Wildcats snapped a league-worst seven-game skid. The Boilermakers have lost six straight.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - No. 2 Notre Dame capped its perfect first run through the women's Atlantic Coast Conference by beating No. 10 Duke 69-53 last night. Kayla McBride added 25 points to help the top-seeded Fighting Irish- win their second consecutive conference tournament. Haley Peters had 18 points for the second-seeded Blue Devils.
