It's a thrill to work as an anchor/investigative reporter in my hometown of Detroit. I co-anchor Fox 2 News at 6 & 10 PM weekends with Robin Schwartz.
As a viewer you continue to play a critical role in the tremendous success of Fox 2's Michigan's Most Wanted. Working with police detectives I investigate unsolved violent crimes...most of them cold case murders. The FBI, DEA and Michigan State Police confirm more than 200 violent fugitives have been arrested directly due to a Michigan's Most Wanted viewer tip.
My Fox 2 Problem Solver investigations uncovering corruption and exposing scams began in 1999. When I'm not at Fox 2 I'm a Firefighter/EMT with the Brighton Area Fire Dept. My part-time job as a firefighter is a lot like working with the Problem Solvers...it's gratifying to help people in need. We run on medicals, car crashes, fires and just like your fire department everything under the sun. In 2006 I combined both careers in New Orleans.
As an Emergency Medical Technician working under the direction of FEMA I helped injured victims of Hurricane Katrina then later reported from New Orleans by satellite for Fox 2 Detroit and the Fox News Channel.
Since 2006 I've been teaching at Eastern Michigan University at the Center for Regional and National Security School of Staff & Command. I teach a class titled, " Public Information Officer Boot Camp." The course is designed to train command level fire and police officers in crisis communications and media-relations.
Since 2008 it's been an honor to serve on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Associated Press. I also work with SIDS, MADD, and The Autism Society of Michigan.
I've been fortunate to anchor at TV stations around the country and I must tell you the people at Fox 2 are the best. The newscasts you see require a tremendous amount of effort. The producers, writers, editors, photographers, assignment managers...no matter where you go in the building you'll run into exceptional talented people who love what they're doing.
