I'm switching gears today...no fashion. Today I want to chat about NOT wearing your wedding ring! Now fellas I'm not bashing...but I've noticed MEN are the biggest offenders.
I was reading people.com---which after myfoxphilly is my source for all things news...ANYWHO, I saw a pic of Kim K and her new hubby Kris. Mr. Kris doesn't wear his wedding ring! Prince William doesn't wear one either---which is supposedly common with the Royals. Then you have Beyonce and Jay Z--both of them hardly ever wear their rings...they say to keep their private life private. If I had a 10 carat rock-- you wouldn't be able to pry it off my finger...just sayin'. So I asked the guys in the newsroom--Mike Jerrick and a couple of my photog buddies...what is the deal? They say hey if I'm going to cheat, what difference does this little round metal thing on my finger make? I had some other folks tell me that their special guy doesn't wear rings, instead these hubbies wear something else like a necklace given to them by their wives.
Here's my take: In June I will be marrying my honey, Philip. This past weekend we picked out our wedding bands...and he better NOT even think about not wearing his wedding ring! For me it's a symbol of commitment to our union. Wedding rings are the most famous symbol of a couple's love. The circle symbolizes eternity. No, it won't keep a man or woman from cheating BUT a spouse should look at it each day and remember their significant other. Phil and I do this cute thing with my engagement ring. If my ring is in it's box or something he grabs it and proposes to me again! He is soooo gonna kill me for telling you guys this, making him look like a "mushy dude" (Sorry Babe). So I want to hear from you guys about this. Is it a big deal or not? Especially to all my older married couples...do you even care anymore that your spouse isn't wearing their wedding band?
