Chicago Public Schools Chief Jean-Claude Brizard met with community activists at Whittier Elementary School Monday.
The activists staged a sit-in last year, demanding CPS build a library at the school and protesting plans to tear down a field house at the school.
CPS agreed and had plans to put it inside the building.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the activists want to make sure the library doesn't take space away from special education students.
