Students at the University of Illinois are facing another big tuition increase.
Interim President Stanley Ikenberry said the tuition increase will be at least 9 percent.
That could push tuition over $10,000 a year for the first time.
Ikenberry said tuition is going up because the state has failed to pay $446 million dollars in funding.
The increase comes on top of a 2.6 percent increase that took effect this year.
The tuition does not include another $3,000 it will cost for room and board.
