Victim's Father Testifies in Hemy Neuman Murder Trial

Posted:

The father of murder victim Rusty Sneiderman took the stand in the murder trial of Hemy Neuman, accused of gunning down Rusty Sneiderman as he was dropping off his young son at a Dunwoody childcare center in November 2010.

Shayna Citron, a close friend of the victim's widow, Andrea Sneiderman admitted on the stand that she didn't believe Andrea Sneiderman when she said she wasn't having an affair with Neuman.

Citron says Andrea Sneiderman denied the affair before and even after her husband's murder. She says Andrea told her if she hadn't been married at the time, she may have been interested in a relationship with her boss, but that she loved Rusty despite their marital issues.

Citron also said that Sneiderman mentioned Neuman's resemblance to a sketch of the gunman released by police. Citron said she urged Andrea to go to police with her concerns.

According to Citron, Andrea Sneiderman called her and told that Rusty had been shot. On Tuesday, Andrea Sneiderman testified that was never told her husband had been shot until after she arrived at the hospital. Until then, the widow said people had told her there had been an accident at the daycare center.

Taking the stand after Citron was the victim's father, Donald Sneiderman. He says that his son was good with money and a responsible guy. He says his son Rusty had $1.1 million in cash and stocks at the time of his death. This contradicted Andrea Sneiderman's claims that Rusty was mismanaging funds.

Donald Sneiderman also testified that Andrea had called her and told her that Rusty had been shot.

Alice Robertson, a co-worker of Hemy Neuman's at General Electric, testified that he acted normal just hours after he allegedly killed Rusty Sneiderman.

"He was serious, level-headed, logical...I didn't notice anything unusual," said Robertson.

Also on Thursdays, jurors also heard from the woman who rented Hemy Neuman the minivan used during the crime.

She says he rented it the day before the murder, and that he seemed anxious, nervous, and fidgeted as he waited for the vehicle.

Hemy Neuman has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the November 2010 murder. The trial is expected to last up to six weeks.

The trial was cut short on Thursday due a fire drill. The trial is set to continue on Friday at 9 a.m.
