I joined the FOX 2 News team in December of 1997 as co-anchor of the station's 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 10:00 PM newscasts with Huel Perkins. We've been working together for more than a decade, and we're proud to be one of the longest running anchor teams in Detroit. These days I also host, along with my colleagues Sherry Margolis and Jackie Paige, The Ladies Room, a special online gathering place on myfoxdetroit.com designed to enlighten, empower and entertain women. As a working woman, wife and mother, I know first hand, the hardships and joys that come with balancing my work life and home life. The Ladies Room is one way I hope to reach out to other women and share my experiences as well as those from our expert panel of professionals from all walks of life.

I was born and raised in Washington State and am a 1982 graduate of Washington State University with a bachelor of arts degree in Broadcast Communications and a minor in Political Science. During my decades long career, I've had the privilege of working as a reporter and anchor in a number of highly competitive news markets including, KUSA-TV in Denver, Colorado , KNSD-TV in San Diego, California and KSTW-TV in Seattle/Tacoma, Washington. Crisscrossing the country, I've enjoyed skiing in the Rockies, whale watching in the Pacific Ocean and I never tire of sunsets on Puget Sound. Now Michigan is my home and my family and I enjoy all that our state has to offer each and every season.

In what might be considered my "big break," I landed at the CBS network in 1992. First as co-anchor of the overnight broadcast, "Up To The Minute" and later as a correspondent and anchor of CBS Morning News. I loved my time living in Manhattan, just off Central Park. It was the big city, but I still felt like I was part of a neighborhood.

Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to travel the world, covering assignments in Bosnia, London, Ireland, Russia and Honduras. I have been honored with five Emmy Awards. One closest to my heart came in 2006, for a report I did on Operation Smile. The international organization travels to third world countries to repair cleft lip and palate deformities on children. I was in the "OR" as surgeons literally changed the lives of children with a simple operation. Not only was it life changing for those children, it was life changing for me! I later received Operation Smile's Humanitarian Award for my work in helping to raise awareness about the organization and its mission.

Telling remarkable stories, helping to bring about change and making a difference in people's lives and in our communities are my rewards in this business. It's why I love to do what I do!
