Elderly Indiana Man Indicted in Michigan Drug Bust

An 87-year-old Indiana man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Detroit, three weeks after he was stopped with a load of cocaine in his pickup truck.

The indictment replaces a criminal complaint that was filed after Leo Sharp's arrest in Washtenaw County, west of Detroit, on Oct. 21. Police say he had bricks of cocaine that totaled more than 200 pounds.

Sharp was indicted Tuesday. He's expected to be arraigned on the new drug charge Monday. A message seeking comment was left for his attorney.

When he was in court last month, Sharp said he was forced at gunpoint to deliver the cocaine. He didn't elaborate. Sharp lives in the Michigan City, Ind., area and says he grows lilies.
