According to Dr. Cass Ingram, author of the new book, The Body Shape Diet , the shape of your body, face, fingers, and hands can reveal the exact best program for shedding inches, improving metabolism, and repairing sluggish hormone function.
"The exterior appearance of a person's body tells far more about one's metabolism, general health, and dietary requirements than a blood test can," says Dr. Ingram.

Here are a few PHYSICAL TRAITS corresponding to each of the common body shape types and a summary of which foods are best for each type:
BODY SHAPE: APPLE Thyroid gland needs nourishment and support Squared head and chin Index finger shorter than ring finger Low body temperature - wears socks/sweaters to bed If you have an Apple-shaped body, your diet should emphasize animal protein, green salads, tomatoes, avocados, & olives.
BODY SHAPE: CARROT Adrenal gland needs nourishment and support Receding chin, narrow head, often pointed Fine, straight hair Your index finger is longer than your ring finger Carrot-shaped body types (usually with a pouch below the belly button) should focus on foods rich in cholesterol like eggs, fatty meats, whole milk, salt & vinegar, salads topped with salmon, crab, lobster, turkey and cheese.
