Losing a loved one as a child can be a traumatic experience, especially if it is a parent. Nationally, it is estimated 1 in 20 children will experience the death of a parent by the time he or she graduates high school.
Yatooma's Foundation For The Kids assists children who have lost a parent by providing guidance, stability and financial assistance.
Each year, the Foundation gets the bulk of its support to assist these families through their grief with its signature fundraising event, Champions for the Kids. This year, Yatooma's Foundation For The Kids is flashing back to the 70s, for its Seventh Annual Champions For The Kids signature fundraising event with the Sunday Night, Fever Gala on Sunday, June 3 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
The following day, the event - supporting kids and families who have lost a parent - continues with the Champions For The Kids Golf Tournament at Orchard Lake Country Club on Monday, June 4. Tickets for the event are available for $250.
