The gun involved in the shooting has been recovered. Family members are telling Fox 2 this may have been a tragic accident. Kadijah James, 15, was a sophomore at Martin Luther king high school. She loved  to sing and dance, but also hoped to be a lawyer one day.

Detroit police were called to the family's Lenox street home Saturday afternoon. When they arrived, Kadijah had been shot once in the chest. We're told her brother was handling a gun when it accidentally went off.

Family and friends shed tears and shared hugs, grieving over Kadijah's sudden death. Her mom was too upset to talk with us, but kind enough share some pictures.

Family members tell us Kadijah and her brother were very close and he is devastated over her death.
