Help is on the way for some Detroit residents who are behind on their mortgage payments. Project L.I.V.E. is working with the City of Detroit on the Mortgage Assistance Foreclosure Program.
The program is designed to help residents who are facing foreclosure, and it will assist families that are no more than three months behind in their mortgage payments.
"Even though the president has done a great job of curtailing the crisis, there still is a crisis. People are still losing their homes at record numbers. Way too many people are being put out of their homes, and what we're learning is that there are resources, but there's a disconnect between connecting the people to the resources," said Rev. Maurice Rudds with Greater Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
A foreclosure event will be held Saturday, June 9 at Henry Ford High School in Detroit from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. To register for the event, call Project L.I.V.E. at (313) 962-2955 or the National Faith Homebuyers at (313) 255-9500.
