Bloomington police are trying to identify a man who has had obscene photos of him posted on utility poles and stop signs in Bloomington and Eden Prairie.
Police don't know if the man in the photos is the victim or suspect in this case, but they're hoping to find out who he is soon.
Nude photos of the man have been popping up in several public places -- including park areas, on tree trunks and on portable toilets. Half a dozen reports have been fielded so far.
The man's face appears discolored in the photos because the pictures had the face blacked out with marker. Deputy Chief Rick Hart said that the man's face was blacked out before they cropped the photo from the neck up, but the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was able to lift the marking to get a better look at who police would need to find.
UPDATE (July 7): Bloomington police received multiple tips after releasing photos of the man's face and believe they have identified him. Police are still trying to determine if the man is a victim or suspect in this case.
Last July, two obscene photos turned up on various utility poles, stop signs and parks in Bloomington. Last month, more images of the naked man appeared inside portable toilets and garbage can lids.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kim Jones-O'Brien at 952-563-4924.
Potential charges in the case could vary, but whoever is posting the pictures could face a gross misdemeanor and some jail time.
