WESTLAND, Mich. (WJBK) -

Wayne County Parks will host its 25th anniversary of Mud Day on Tuesday, July 10 from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Nankin Mills Recreation Center at Hines Park.

The free event will kick off with a live show from Radio Disney AM 910 at 10:30 a.m.

Participants will be able to blast into the mud at 11:45 a.m. It is encouraged to get as filthy as possible because there will be a King and Queen Mud crowned by the end of the event.

Don't fear for your cars getting muddy because the Westland Fire Department will be at the park to hose off muddridden children - and adults. Don't forget a towel.

There will be plenty of games and relays to keep kids occupied. Children should wear old clothes or bathing suits and a changing area, as well as plastic bags for muddy clothes, will be available.

Parking is limited at the park so please carpool or plan appropriately.

Nankin Mills is located on Hines Drive, east of Ann Arbor Trail in Westland. Activities will take place near the volleyball courts across from the Interpretive Center.
