Raise your glass while raising funds for Camp Casey at the first-ever Camp Casey Summer Beer Fest at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday, June 23.
More than 70 local, regional, national and international brews will be readily available to sample in a festive atmosphere. The increase of craft beer events in Michigan, such as Beer Fest, showcase a place where beer aficionados can sample dozens of beers, new or old, in one place.
The atmosphere of the Royal Oak Farmers Market is a great complement to a Beer Fest theme.
The event is made possible by the generous sponsorships of Carhartt, Garden Fresh
Gourmet, Real Detroit Weekly, Suburban Buick GMC and Westborn Market.
People ages 21 and over are welcome to participate so please bring proper identification. Every penny raised from ticket sales will benefit Camp Casey, a horseback riding program for kids with cancer in Michigan.
"We were the charity recipient of the winter beer fest, held at the Royal Oak Music Theater, this
past January and couldn't believe what a huge success it was," said Molly Reeser, executive
director of Camp Casey. "When we were given the opportunity to partner in a larger way for
Summer Beer Fest, we jumped at the chance! We know this is going to become a can't-miss staple on people's summer schedule."
Camp Casey, a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2003, offers three unique programs to
children with cancer and their families.
Cowboy Camp Outs are overnight mini-vacations at dude ranches in Michigan. Horsey House Calls bring a horse to the doorstep of kids too ill to attend an overnight retreat. Outlaw Outings provide family-oriented activities, like attending professional sports games, without the expense or hassle of planning.
All of Camp Casey's programs are free for families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis.
Camp Casey is located at 333 West 7th Street, Suite 230 in Royal Oak. To reach Camp Casey call (877) 388-8315.
