The Royal Oak City Commission plans to meet and discuss the brick clock tower. City Commission leaders will consider passing a resolution in support of the Suburban Collection.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the Suburban Collection wants to buy the clock tower from a bank that got ownership of numerous Fresard Properties in 2011, according to documents.
Published reports say The State Department of Transportation has ordered the clock tower to be torn down because its financially strapped owner failed to pay a annual fee to the State Department of Transportation.
The brick clock tower is located on northbound Wooward just north of I-696, built by a car dealer.
At tonight's meeting, The Royal Oak City Commission could vote on letting the Suburban Collection lease the brick clock tower in order to keep it in place.
