Sheriff's officers in the Detroit area are planning a tribute Saturday for a Denver policewoman who was shot and killed at a park where families had gathered for a free weekly jazz concert.

The Wayne County sheriff's department says its deputies and other personnel plan to stop their vehicles at 11 a.m. EDT and simultaneously enable their lights and sirens for 15 seconds in memory of Officer Celena Hollis. She was shot Sunday night while responding to a disturbance.

Sheriff Benny Napoleon says: "The loss of this engaging, dedicated law enforcement professional will be felt in Denver, Detroit and throughout the nation."

Hollis was a 32-year-old single mother and a seven-year Denver police veteran who previously worked as a Detroit police officer. Her funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
