Work to begin on Livernois bridge, Crooks Road in Rochester Area

Drivers in Rochester and Rochester Hills are already dealing with construction headaches. Now officials are releasing details about even more road projects.
Crews are already working on the Avon Road bridge. Now, they'll start work on another bridge next month and work on widening Crooks Road.
They're projects leaders say are long overdue.
"As everybody's aware, these bridges were rapidly deteriorating. They wouldn't have waited that long. We would've been closing these bridges before we would've had a chance to reconstruct them. So I think that's an important point here that these bridges had to be replaced and they had to be replaced now," said Dennis Kolar with the Road County for Oakland County.
The Livernois bridge will be closed on July 9. It's expected to be back open to traffic November 1.
