ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) -
Happiness, anger, confusion, relief -- we got a range of emotions from metro Detroiters reacting to the Supreme Court's decision on President Obama's health care reforms.
"This is an awesome victory not for just Democrats or Republicans, but for anybody who cares about their bodies and their health care and the health of their kids and their kids' kids and their kids' kids' kids, so this is awesome," said Rachelle Morgan.
She was out for a walk with little Jehmari and thrilled to hear the news. The Supreme Court upholding the president's Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act.
"I think it's like anything, it's like whatever the policy is, I think people sort of figure out what to do afterward. Like they just need to know what's it's going to be and then they can adjust accordingly," said Jeff Kinneloy.
But that might be easier said than done. Debbie Faudie works at a restaurant and has been trying to research Obamacare to determine how it will impact how they do business, but she's not having much luck.
"I just find everything very confusing. I don't find the website that they refer you to, to be helpful, so I hope now that it's passed that somebody makes it a little clearer for the average person to follow."
Private practice attorney and former Oakland County Prosecutor David Gorcyca says the country can't afford it and he's concerned small businesses won't be able to, either.
"I don't know how the government's going to pay for it. We are deeper and deeper in debt every day, and again, from a philosophical standpoint, sounds conceptually like a good idea, but from a fiscal standpoint, I think it's going to be horrific on the American people."
So many questions, so many unknowns now come with knowing the Supreme Court's decision.
