ANN ARBOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

A hazmat team was called Friday to an accident on M-14 at U.S. 23 near Ann Arbor.

A truck hauling acid rolled over in the westbound lanes spilling its load onto the shoulder of the road.

Fire crews and Washtenaw County Hazmat used sand to absorb the acid, but they had to shut the highway down for several hours causing major traffic delays.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital for a broken shoulder and ankle.

A tow truck worker was also hospitalized as a precaution after some of the acid splashed onto his skin.
