Quality Assurance / Food Safety and Employee Safety Trainer and Facilitator
Hours: 40+ hours per week. Generally 8 am until 5 pm. Monday thru Friday. Seasonally this will include Saturdays during ham season. Also training of the afternoon shift employees requires the applicant to be able to shift to a later schedule to conduct training for the afternoon shift. This should only be a few days per month.
Perform Thermometer Calibrations, Conduct Moisture Analysis of Products, Perform and Document Daily Food Safety and Employee Safety Checks. Perform and Document Audits of Current Labels and Labels in Development for Submittal to the USDA.
Utilizing the Sistem Employee Training System to Document the Successful Training of All Employees in Areas Such as Food Safety, Lock-Out Tag-Out, Sexual Harassment, ETC.
Strong Self Starter- We have neither the time nor inclination to baby sit our management team. You must be willing to dive in and take charge.
Strong Food Safety Background- Either a college degree in Food Science or 3+ years of Food Industry Experience. If you desire to work for a company that is committed to food safety, we desire to be that company.
Hard Working/ Reliable- Our managers must lead by example. We have little tolerance for absenteeism and tardiness. Our top tier managers are extremely reliable and hardworking.
Ambitious- Our management team is maturing. We have some significant positions that will be opening in the next three years because of anticipated retirements. We would like to promote from within whenever possible.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is negotiable based upon education or work experience. The position can be compensated either hourly or salary depending on the individual and their level of responsibility.
We currently offer company sponsored health insurance. There are 5 plans to choose from and the employee contribution depends on the plan they choose. This may or not change once the government heath mandate goes into effect in 2014.
We currently provide a 401K with a dollar for dollar match of the first 3% of salary you put into the plan and a 50% match of the next 2% of salary that you put into to the plan. So if you put in 5% of your yearly compensation, the company puts in an additional 4%. You must wait one year before you can enter the plan.
Paid Vacations and Holidays: We offer 6 paid holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day) and 10 paid days of vacation after one complete year of service. Life Insurance: $10,000 term policy, Dental Insurance, Short Term Disability.
