A board put in place to help Detroit Mayor Dave Bing repair the city's broken finances is holding a meeting at Wayne State University.
The state treasurer's office says Thursday's financial advisory board meeting in the McGregor Memorial Conference Center is open to the public.
Under a consent deal approved in April, the nine-person board will help the city rebound from a budget deficit of more than $200 million and structural debt topping $13 billion. The board works with Bing, Detroit's chief financial officer and the program management director.
Board members were selected by Bing, Gov. Rick Snyder, state Treasurer Andy Dillon and the Detroit City Council.
