PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - Prosecutors dropped charges against a man accused of violating Michigan's computer hacking law by reading his estranged wife's email.
Oakland County authorities dropped some charges because Clara Walker appears to have unclean hands. Chief assistant prosecutor Paul Walton says his office was informed by her divorce lawyer that she had read text messages on Leon Walker's phone.
Walton tells the Detroit Free Press (http://on.freep.com/MqTnhg) Clara Walker would have problems testifying because of that evidence.
Leon Walker still faces trial Monday on a charge of attempting to get access to a confidential law enforcement database. He worked for Oakland County.
Defense lawyer Leon Weiss calls the remaining case "outrageous." He says the charge is flimsy.
