EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WJBK) -
A 9-1-1 caller reports a car fire. That's followed by a grisly discovery. There was a burned body inside the car in Eastpointe. Police are working to identify the victim.

A black BMW was totally involved with heavy fire when Eastpointe firefighters arrived early Saturday morning on Cresentwood near Gratiot and 9 Mile. As they put out the fire they discovered a badly burned body inside. Firefighters could not determine the age or sex but they do believe the person was an adult.
The burned car is a black, 2012 BMW. It was partially in a driveway of a home that's for rent. Neighbors don't recognize the car and the home has not been occupied. Arson investigators are working to determine how the fire started and identify the victim. An autopsy is scheduled.
