(WJBK) -

Actor, singer, and teacher Steve Blackwood stopped by the Fox 2 studios Wednesday morning to talk about the release of his new self-titled blues album.

Since returning to Michigan in 2009, Steve has shot four films in Detroit: "Machine Gun Preacher," "Cedar Rapids," "Mooz-lum" and "Oogieloves."

He'll celebrate the new release with a party Wednesday night at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of his new CD Wednesday will go to two organizations.

The first is Beaumont Children's Hospital's "No Bullying Live Empowered" program. The other is called "Defeat the Label."

Jeff Sakwa, president of Defeat the Label, joined Blackwood for the live in-studio interview Wednesday.
