A 20-year-old Detroit man has been arraigned on murder and assault with
intent to commit murder charges in the fatal shootings of three people
and wounding of a fourth inside a Flint home.
The Flint Journal reports that James P. Simpkins appeared via video Friday in district court.
Simpkins was arrested Wednesday after the early morning shootings. He
called police to report that he had been assaulted and that two people
were killed.
Prosecutor David Leyton said the shootings occurred during a party
after one of the victims "began to harass, taunt, tease Mr. Simpkins by
saying, `You're crazy' or something like that."'
A 20-year-old Detroit woman escaped through a window after being shot twice and strangled.
The Associated Press was unable to determine if Simpkins has an attorney.
