Two teens from Westland disappear after visiting an uncle in Detroit. Two men are in police custody, but where the teens are remains a mystery.
"I'm afraid somebody has them, and I just want them to let them go," said Virgie Kudla, Jake Kudla's mother.
"This is very out of character. We're sick. I just want my boy to come home," said Mike Bobbish, Jourdan Bobbish's father.
Three parents are worried sick about their sons, who disappeared three days ago. Sunday night, 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish and 18-year-old Jake Kudla left his mother's Westland house to visit their uncle on Detroit's east side. They left his house around eleven o'clock that night and haven't been seen or heard from since.
"They said they were going out for a little while. I knew Jake planned on coming back because he left the front door unlocked with not taking his keys," Kudla said.
"We started panicking a little bit and started going through the steps trying to find them," Bobbish said.
Late Tuesday night there was a break in the case. The white 2001 Cavalier that the teens were driving the night they disappeared was discovered behind an apartment building on Beechwood near Linsdale in Detroit. Police ran the plates and learned the vehicle belonged to the missing Westland teens. They arrested two men in their late thirties that live in the building. In their possession were the radio, speakers and bass from inside the Cavalier.
Police believe the men also used bleach to wipe their fingerprints off the Cavalier. Right now, the vehicle has been impounded and is being processed for evidence.
"They're saying they don't believe that these two men are responsible, but we're hoping maybe they can provide a lead," said Kudla.
The family has filed a missing persons report in Westland, but because Kudla and Bobbish were last seen in Detroit and that's where the vehicle was found, DPD is working the case now. Sources told us the teens had dabbled in prescription drugs. That's why they were with their uncle in Detroit that night.
At this point, it's believed the teens possible tried to buy more that night in Detroit and may have met up with the wrong person.
"I don't think that there's anything out of the ordinary on his behalf, but it has to be someone involved with drugs or something like that because why would they take my son," Kudla said.
Detroit Police say the two men found with the Cavalier and stolen equipment are in custody and considered persons of interest, but it's not clear if they are connected to their disappearance or just the stolen vehicle.
Meantime, family members are putting up flyers and even searching abandoned houses in the area where the car was found hoping someone will help lead them to their sons.
"We just want our kids to come home, and we'll offer a reward for any knowledge," Bobbish said.
"We're going to keep putting up posters. We're going to keep spreading the word on Facebook, and we're going to find these boys," said Kudla.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
