Paddle the Mitten is bringing the low-impact social sport "stand up paddle boarding" to Hartland, Michigan.
"It's a cross between kayaking, surfing and walking on water," said the creator of Paddle the Mitten, Linda Brown.
After spending 20 years in the water sport industry in states across the country, Brown traveled back up to her homeland of Michigan to pave the way for others to find their "inner Hawaiian."
Paddle the Mitten offers indoor and outdoor SUP classes, SUPoga and SUPilates.
After a safety and instructional course, Brown will take you on a guided tour. After you are confident and balanced, she will venture with you out on one of the many lakes of Michigan.
"It's such a great workout," said Brown, "and not only a workout in disguise but it can be anything from social to piece and quiet and relaxation, so it's very inviting to women."

For more information or to sign up for classes, visit the Paddle the Mitten web site or call 810-626-8923.
